We’ve just added 2 new dates around the Easter period to our spring 2015 programme. Our first backpacking trip of the year will be the popular Letterewe and Fisherfield Backpacking Traverse which will run from Sunday 5th to Friday 10th of April. This is always a great trip, last season we headed out on this one ten days earlier, at the end of March, and had some great weather and saw nobody except ourselves the whole time!
Despite crossing the most remote part of Britain, totally devoid of roads and habitation, the route mainly follows good paths and daily distances aren’t too long (we use 3 different camping locations over the 6 days so we’re not moving camp every day) which makes it a good option for novice or less experienced backpackers. We provide all the equipment you need as well as organising all the food for you. Of course if you have your own gear and prefer to use that, it’s an option.
This trip is already booking up very well, so get in touch soon to reserve your space!
The following week, from Monday 13th till Friday 17th April, we”l be offering the chance to join a lively group for some Skye scrambling on our Skye Ridges and Scrambles programme. The Skye Cuillin at this time of year can be very rewarding and the character of our days out is almost alpine as there is usually still plenty of snow about, although the rocky buttresses and ridge crests are largely clear by this time. Joining this Skye scrambling trip would be a great way for experienced hillwalkers to push the envelpoe a little on some more demanding terrain, pick up some new skills and really set their summer season off to a head start.
Get in touch if you would like to discuss any aspect of either trip, but be quick as they are already filling up!
