Climb Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain! Join us for a day’s hill walk from a base in Fort William. The Pony Track is the most popular route to the summit of Ben Nevis. It’s not technical, but can be tiring and the path is stony. However, the amazing views will inspire you as you make your way up and down the mountain. An ascent can take between 6 and 9 hours depending on the conditions and the fitness of the group. It’s a longish day so we’ll always go at a pace that’s comfortable for everyone in the group. This route is suitable for reasonably fit novice walkers. You’ll need strong supportive footwear, outdoor clothing – waterproofs, a warm extra layer, hat and gloves (it can be very cold at the top sometimes) and a packed lunch including some drinking water. also a backpack to carry this in. We can usually help out if you’re lacking any items of equipment, just let us know in advance.
We keep a list of recommended accommodation in the Fort William area to suit all budgets, and are happy to assist you with your accommodation bookings. Fort William is easily reached by public transport, both bus and rail.
On demand from April – October.
