Join us for this fine 1-day adventure. The classic easy scramble of the Carn Mor Dearg Arete is a more challenging and much more rewarding way to approach the roof of Britain than the very busy Pony Track, and is also one of the finest mountain routes anywhere. The route is long with some rough terrain, so it requires some fitness, and has some passages of easy but exposed scrambling so a head for heights is also useful. Just to add a little more spice, there’s a burn to cross on the descent, so bring some dry socks! The view s from our first peak, Carn Mor Dearg, over to the North face of Ben Nevis are astounding, and the continuation by the airy but nowhere difficult CMD Arete is exhilarating.
This is quite a big day – 11 miles/18km long, with 4800 ft/ 1500 metres of ascent and descent. We usually take around 10-11 hours to complete this circuit.
Prices for this this adventurous route start from as little as £50 per person. Contact us to discuss your plans or to make a booking.
On demand from April – October.
