You’ll find details of our most popular trips, not only on the Isle of Skye but throughout the Scottish highlands and further afield,  here. Use them as a template, or to get some ideas for your own bespoke trip, which we can mount on dates to suit you. We offer everything from relaxing strolls and hiking with a natural history or cultural emphasis, right up to full on mountaineering challenges.

Our  open group Isle of Skye – Classic Walking programme  runs right through the April- October season, so just contact us and let us know which dates you’d like to come.

Do you do any walking in Sutherland. Am keen to do the Sutherland Trail fro Kylesku to Kyle of Tongue. Cameron McNeish released a book on this trail about two years ago. Am keen to do it with a friend and my two teenage sons.

      Hi Jim,

Thanks for your interest in Mountain Freedom.

Yes we visit Sutherland fairly regularly. Usually it’s with bespoke groups – we tend not to offer many “open group” programmes there due to it’s remoteness from the rest of Britain and the logistics involved for people getting there, etc. Our Assynt and Coigach Peaks programme, based in Ullapool, is pretty popular though.

The Sutherland trail is open to a lot of variation with options to take in some of the fine mountains among which it passes. It’s best to take around a week over over it, and doing it as a backpacking trip with wild camping offers the greatest flexibility in an area that is very sparsely populated and has little in the way of accommodation.

We’d be happy to help organise such a trip for your group – 4 is pretty much an ideal number for this sort of thing. Get back in touch if you’re interested and I can give you some details.
